Sisters of St. Joseph - of St. Augustine, FL
  Where are the Sisters?

Sr. Mary Kuester, Medical Social Worker, Camillus House, Miami

As as a medical social work at Camillus House, Sr. Mary Kuester ministers to the Dear Neighbor each day as she goes about her work.

Sr. Mary will tell you about the ‘miracles’ of Camillus, how her life and the lives of others have been changed.  Along with all the other dedicated staff, Sister listens to the stories and needs of the homeless coming off the streets.  They direct them to many services that may include letting clients make phone calls, take showers, obtain clothing, get ID’s, receive food boxes, look for housing, connect to employment services and enter treatment. If you were to visit the shelter you would hear a phrase repeated by staff and client alike – “I am blessed.”  Despite both physical and emotional sufferings, people are able to see God’s hand in their lives and to reach out to others in compassionate care.
