Faith in Practice through Charity and Humility
As Sisters of St. Joseph, we are called both individually and as a congregation to courageous growth in the virtues of charity and humility. Theres virtues find their deepest expression in the Eucharist, the source of our unity and center of our apostolic religious life.
It is in the spirit of charity that we strive toward greater love of God and service of the dear neighbor, manifested through gentleness, joy and peace. Our attention to the presence of God in our daily activities allows us to recognize God's call and to minister wherever we are capable.
It is in the spirit of humility that we put aside our own desires for the needs of others and the common good. We recognize that we have given up all things for the sake for the kingdom of God and greater freedom to live the Gospel. It is in humility that we know God's unconditional love for us and our utter dependence ofnGod. We love and care for the dear neighbor with respect, reverence, and awe, as brother and sister of Christ.
Our charity and humility might be summed in the words of St. Francis of Assisi: "Preach the Gospel at all times, and when necessary use words."
